An insightful read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was fascinating to see the thoughts and meanings embedded into the very structure of 1 Nephi. They were things which I surely never would have recognized without someone pointing them out to me. Perhaps what I enjoyed the most was the fact that the author didn't point these things out to try and impress anyone. Rather, his every effort was to reinforce the message of the prophets about the divinity and message of Jesus Christ.
This book goes beyond the story of 1 Nephi. The author also includes insights into many of the stories of the Old Testament patriarchs and prophets whose lives were often patterns of Christ's life; what He would go through and how He feels about us. Many of those stories were referenced by the prophets of the New Testament to show that Jesus is the Christ. I now view those stories of old with new eyes and a deeper appreciation.

The leap of logic has become a leap of faith

Marcus M. Ladd shows great skill and understanding in viewing the scriptures with his experiment upon the word referred to by Alma in the Book of Mormon below quoted:
But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, . . . . Alma 32:27
AND Marcus has shown himself approved by expertly handling the ancient "learning of the Jews" mentioned by Nephi of the Book of Mormon and Paul of the New Testament again quoted below:
