"Wows" for "The Therapist"

"The Therapist" is a gripping contemporary novel that chronicles the forbidden relationship between a wealthy Boston socialite and her brilliant, up-and-coming psychoanalyst. Its plot is filled with compelling twists and turns as the protagonists fall in love and dramatic results ensue. I could not put this one down! Brilliantly written and engagine, with a dark undercurrent that kept me riveted until the climactic end!

The Therapist is a sometimes thrilling, sometimes hilarious expose of narcissistic psychoanalysts, the stake they take in manipulating wealthy patients and the dogmatic infighting of academics vying for stature. Author Sandylee Maccoby gets under the skin of various characters as psychological terms become weapons of control along with sex, money and the power of Harvard faculty appointments. Enjoy!

Sandylee Maccoby's "The Therapist" engaged this reader from start to finish. It provides a well constructed plot line, well developed
characters and a very unexpected denouement! And raises ethical questions without hitting you over the head with them. We will look
for another book from this lively writer!
