Howard Weiner is the creator and host of Visions of Dylan, a series of two-hour programs that airs on 99.5 FM, WBAI, New York. Howard received an MFA Degree in Creative Writing from The New School in 2010.

Long Strange Trip Revisited

Tangled Up In Tunes brought me back to some of the best times of my life. Howie's stories had me on the floor laughing throughout each chapter. I wish he had included more pics from the road, but his play by play makes up for it. I recommend this book to any Dylan or Deadhead. Thanks for the memories Catfish!!!!!

Great Stocking Stuffer

Just finished reading "Tangled Up In Tunes" by Howard Weiner. One of the best books I've ever read about the joys and hazards of falling in love with music. Weiner's first hand account of how he followed the Grateful Dead and then Dylan's Never Ending Tour around the country make for a terrific book. Great stocking stuffer for the Deadhead or the Bobophile in your life.

Greatest Touring Book Ever Written!

This is easily the best autobiographical account of a Deadhead's (and Dylan Head's) touring experience and also the most interesting book I have ever read about the Grateful Dead. Howard's memory is unreal as EVERYTHING he writes about of our touring experiences is absolutely true. I found myself shaking my head and laughing many times at some of the individual moments he describes, asking myself "How the hell did he remember that?!". These were amongst the greatest times of my life and I can't thank Howard enough for documenting them, both honestly and with the same passion I know he had for the band itself. Although I love Bob Dylan, I never became the Dylan aficionado Howard has become and I never toured to see his concerts but I was equally entertained by those chapters. Even if you weren't touring to see the Dead as we were, I strongly urge anyone who has a liking for music in general, and the Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan in particular, to read this book. You will be thoroughly entertained and it will leave you with "Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile!".
