Ever since I was a child I was enthralled by Mafia books such as the classic "The Godfather", "Goodfella's" etc.
My only problem with some of the books is that they seemed to lack some of the detail of other more suspenseful books from authors like King, Patterson, Grisham and others.
I always believed in my heart, that you have to write for yourself, before you can write something that others will find entertaining. Finding that there wasn't a fictionalized "Mafia Genre" book that fit what I wanted, well, I wrote my own.
I hope you enjoy reading "Tender" as much as I enjoyed writing it. There is a Sequel and a Prequel planned as well and in the works. I always enjoy hearing from my readers on what you think of this title.

J.D. Ellis has been writing for over 25 years. While enjoying true crime, this is her first Crime Fiction-Suspense novel. She also writes non-fiction books and articles. She lives with her husband, son, 3 dogs and parrots near St. Louis Missouri.

Seriously?

I was looking up "Tender is the Night" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, also known as an American classic, and found this book. J.D. Ellis, are you seriously going to make a "gritty crime book" with the same title as a masterpiece? Did you plan on adapting this book to film and calling it "Citizen Kane?" But really, maybe I shouldn't be so harsh, the prequel to this book, titled "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," looks damn good.

Dark and Gritty

This book is a gritty and compelling story with dark, interesting characters. I was truly drawn into this morally ambiguous family and Laurence Martel is an intriguing character. If you are a fan of "The Godfather" (which I am) I believe you would love this book.

This book was as good as The Godfather books. I only gave four stars because of the atrocious grammar, spelling and inappropriate exchange of words. Specifically bought for brought and visaversa.
It started at the beginning and continued throught the whole book. Was very irritating. I loved the whole story and especially happy ending.
