Well written and illistrated

The book has lots of diagrams and is designed so that even a person with little electronics background could easily incorporate piezoelectric ceramics into their projects. The math is highschool level, like a cookbook. My book came with a 1 page errata sheet, but even without this I would have no trouble understanding the material because it is so well written and illustrated.

Short and sweet overview

I work with piezoelectric ceramics on a daily basis. In my opinion, this book is invaluable. Here's why:
1) This book is short and sweet and has really good color illustrations. It's short enough to know cover-to-cover and flip to any of the property tables without hesitation. I also use the illustrations often to explain concepts to co-workers.
2) The math has been "boiled down" to algebraic approximations that are fairly decent. It should be understandable with high-school algebra and possibly some AC circuit background.
There are some areas where I wish this book would go further:
1) Testing of piezoelectric ceramics has become fairly standardized per MIL-STD-1376. An overview of testing procedures and equipment could be very useful.
2) System interaction. Piezoelectric ceramics are almost always incorporated into a larger system and the assembly makes a huge impact on the piezoelectric response. This is brought up on a base level for several applications; however, some worked out examples would be a good addition.
3) Mentioning the assumptions of the given equations. They sometimes give equations without defining the limits- easy to get into trouble using equations that aren't applicable.
