About the Author
Author Dianna Brown-Funches is the founder of Destined for Greatness, a non-profit organization that encourages young people to be all they can be. DFG also feeds and encourages the homeless. I try to minister to people in different ways whether it's through this book, my daily life, or even song! In fact, I performed background vocals on the Harvey Watkins, Jr. project, It s in my heart, and was a semifinalist in Fred Hammond s Warehouse Worship auditions. I m also an active member of The Grammy and Stellar Award-winning Potter s House Choir. I think it's important to regularly consume positive spiritual messages, and that's why I've made the Potter s House of Dallas my church. It's where my family and I go to gain a better understanding of God, meet other believers, and get spiritually fed by Bishop T.D. Jakes and others on our church's leadership team. I am an educator. I hold a bachelor s degree from Jackson State University and a master s from Ashford University. I'm also an alumnus of God's Leading Ladies Life Enrichment Program.I am originally from Jackson, Mississippi, but now live in Dallas, Texas, with my husband, and our beautiful daughters. I also oversee my daughters' non-profit organization, Anointed & Appointed Givers, which annually raises funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. One day sitting at Chili's, when my daughter was 4 years old, she saw a picture of a child on the back of the menu the child had no hair on her head. As I explained, she started crying. She said, Mom, we have to give to St. Jude. So we let her put her name on the balloon and she gave a donation. She never forgot that day!
